The Vice-Chancellor of the East African University Rwanda (EAUR), Prof. Callixte Kabera, has urged graduates to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired at university to solve community problems and contribute to national development.
Kabera delivered the message during EAUR’s seventh graduation ceremony held at Intare Conference Arena in Kigali on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
He reminded the graduates that earning a degree should not mark the end of their journey, but rather the beginning of using their education to make a difference in society.
He also said education should equip graduates with the skills to find employment, create their own jobs and continue developing professionally.
“Knowledge provides solutions,” Prof.Calixte Kabera.
The Vice Chancellor of EAUR was continuing to improve the quality of education through practical training and partnerships with other institutions to ensure students acquire skills that meet labour market demands.
He added that the university aims to strengthen research and innovation, expand collaboration with partners and increase the use of technology in education.
The Vice-Chancellor also said the university had made significant progress but acknowledged that more work was needed to prepare graduates to address challenges in everyday life.
He urged graduates to use the knowledge and values they had acquired at EAUR to improve their own lives and contribute to the well-being of their communities.
