Organizers of the DJ Spinny & Friends Kigali Summer Festival have announced that the event will now take place on July 18, 2026, at Gahanga Cricket Stadium, instead of the previously scheduled date of August 8, 2026.
The date change was confirmed in a press release issued by Spinny Events on June 4.
According to the organizers, the decision to move the festival to an earlier date was driven by plans to expand the event and accommodate a growing audience following its debut edition, which attracted thousands of attendees from Rwanda and neighboring countries.
In the statement, organizers said the move to a larger outdoor venue would enable the festival to host more attendees while enhancing the overall experience.
This year’s edition is expected to extend beyond music performances by incorporating sports and fan engagement activities. Organizers revealed that festival-goers will be able to watch both the FIFA World Cup third-place playoff and the FIFA World Cup final during the event, creating a blend of sports, music, and entertainment at a single venue.
While the full programme has not yet been released, organizers said additional entertainment activities are being planned. A lineup featuring headline artists, DJs, and other performers is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The festival is organized by DJ Spinny, a Ugandan DJ and promoter with Rwandan roots, who launched the event as part of his growing entertainment brand. Since expanding to Kigali, the festival has established itself as a notable music and lifestyle event in the region.
Ticket sales have not yet opened. However, organizers confirmed that tickets will soon be available through the festival’s official website and selected partner platforms. No information has been provided regarding previously purchased tickets.
With just over a month remaining before the event, attention now turns to the upcoming lineup announcement and further details on the sports, entertainment, and fan engagement activities planned for the 2026 edition.
