President Paul Kagame and other Commonwealth leaders were hosted by King Charles III on the evening of November 2, 2026, following a business and investment forum in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.

The gathering comes as the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) takes place from November 1 to 4 under the theme “Accelerating Partnerships and Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth.” The meeting brings together leaders, ministers, investors and business executives to explore opportunities for trade and economic cooperation.

The Commonwealth Business Forum, held from November 2 to 4, aims to connect governments with investors and businesses. Organisers say developing Commonwealth countries have presented investment-ready projects worth approximately US$34 billion, with the forum providing opportunities to establish partnerships and attract financing.

President Paul Kagame is also scheduled to participate in a high-level discussion alongside Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Samoa’s Deputy Prime Minister Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molioʻo, focusing on unlocking the Commonwealth’s potential.

King Charles III is attending the summit alongside Queen Camilla in his capacity as Head of the Commonwealth, participating in events involving leaders from the organisation’s 56 member countries.

Rwanda joined the Commonwealth in 2009, becoming the second country after Mozambique to join without having been a British colony. It hosted CHOGM in Kigali in June 2022, when President Paul Kagame became Commonwealth Chair-in-Office for a two-year term. The organisation represents approximately 2.7 billion people across 56 member countries.
