East African University Rwanda (EAUR) has held discussions in Poland on implementing DIGILOG, a European Union-funded project that plans to introduce digital logistics courses and expand practical training at Rwandan universities.

According to a university announcement, an EAUR delegation met Erasmus+ project coordinator Maria Zaręb Hidous in Wrocław on September 21. The discussions concerned the project’s implementation, although the announcement did not detail decisions or deadlines agreed during the meeting.

DIGILOG was presented at its launch as a three-year project with a total budget of about €400,000, including €360,000 from the European Union, according to The New Times’ January 26, 2026 report. These figures cover the project across its participating institutions.

One planned investment is a shared digital logistics laboratory equipped with radio frequency identification, or RFID, technology. The facility is intended to allow students to simulate logistics and supply chain operations, giving them practical experience alongside classroom lessons.

At the launch, EAUR Vice Chancellor Prof. Callite Kabera said the project would help address gaps in facilities and lecturers’ capacity to teach digital skills.

“With this project, we are enhancing digital skills so that students gain more practical experience and fit better in the market,” he said, as reported by The New Times.

DIGILOG’s full title is “Enhancing curricula at Rwandan Universities by adding courses about Digitalisation of Logistics Systems”. According to EAUR’s project description, partners plan to assess employers’ skills needs, revise courses, develop teaching materials and train academic staff.

The consortium comprises EAUR, Rwanda Polytechnic, the University of Žilina in Slovakia, and Poland’s International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław, which coordinates the project.
