On Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Mulindi/Gasabo Showground in Kigali, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI), Hon. Eric Rwigamba, presided over the closing ceremony of the 18th National Agriculture Show, which ran from June 18 to June 27.

This year’s agriculture show offered a great opportunity to explore and promote new technologies in farming, access to finance, and entrepreneurship. All of these are key to transforming Rwanda’s agriculture sector.
The event was held under the theme: “Leveraging Innovation and Investment for Building Resilient and Sustainable Agri-Food Systems.”
In his remarks, Minister Rwigamba said the show is a valuable platform that brings together solutions to the main challenges facing the agriculture sector. He also emphasized how it helps farmers adopt new technologies and build partnerships among stakeholders.
He also mentioned that they are considering extending the exhibition to 30 days in the future, to give more people enough time to explore the innovations on display.

This year’s show attracted more than 60,000 visitors, a 50% increase compared to 2024. It also had over 500 exhibitors, the highest number ever recorded.
Jean Claude Shirimpumu, a representative of the exhibitors, praised how technology is growing in both farming and animal husbandry. He said that exhibitors learned a lot from those who visited their stands.
“We are gaining knowledge because some of our visitors give us advice and show us how we can improve. All of this helps us develop our projects,” Shirimpumu said.
The National Agriculture Show was launched in July 2003 by President Paul Kagame, and this year marked its 18th edition. Over the years, it has become an important space for farmers, innovators, breeders, and others working in the agriculture sector to share experiences and knowledge.
The show continues to play a big role in making agriculture and animal husbandry strong pillars of Rwanda’s national development.
