EAUR Concludes Outstanding 2026 Rwanda Varsity League Campaign with Women’s Basketball Title

East African University Rwanda (EAUR) wrapped up an impressive 2026 Rwanda Varsity League campaign after producing remarkable performances across football and basketball competitions.

The biggest highlight came in the women’s basketball final, where EAUR WBBC defeated Huye College 74-68 to be crowned Rwanda Varsity League champions. The victory capped an outstanding tournament, with the team displaying resilience, teamwork and championship mentality throughout the competition.

In football, EAUR Kigali FC reached the final and finished as runners-up after facing Mount Kigali University. Meanwhile, EAUR Nyagatare FC secured third place with a convincing 3-0 victory over Gishari College.

EAUR also celebrated success in the men’s basketball competition, where EAUR BBC Kigali finished in third place after an impressive run in the tournament.

These achievements reflect the university’s continued commitment to sporting excellence and student development. EAUR congratulates all players, coaches, technical staff and supporters whose dedication made this successful Varsity League campaign possible.

With one championship, one runners-up finish and two third-place finishes, EAUR once again demonstrated its growing strength in university sports in Rwanda.
