President Kagame and First Lady Host Diplomatic Luncheon in Kigali

President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame hosted the Annual Diplomats’ Luncheon today, January 16, 2024, at the Kigali Convention Centre. The event brought together envoys accredited to Rwanda, highlighting the country’s dedication to fostering strong diplomatic relations and international cooperation.

In his remarks, President Kagame welcomed newly appointed ambassadors and acknowledged the establishment of new embassies in Kigali, including those of Saudi Arabia and Israel. He emphasized Rwanda’s commitment to global engagement and its readiness to collaborate on mutual goals.

The President also celebrated Rwanda’s significant leap in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report, where the country advanced 12 places to rank 29th globally and second in Africa, showcasing its dedication to creating a business-friendly environment.

Additionally, President Kagame invited the diplomatic community to participate in the 31st commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, underscoring the importance of remembrance and collective efforts toward peace and unity.

The Diplomatic Luncheon served as a vital platform for promoting collaboration, strengthening international partnerships, and reaffirming Rwanda’s role as a proactive member of the global community.
