REMA Director General Calls for Greater Commitment to Environmental Protection

The Director General of the Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA), Madame Juliette Kabera, has emphasized the critical role of human activities in environmental degradation. She called on all Rwandans to take the lead in implementing government strategies aimed at protecting and preserving the environment.

During an interview with RadioTv1 on January 27, 2024, Madame Kabera emphasized the urgent need for both individual and collective efforts to mitigate the negative consequences of these actions. She reiterated the importance of strictly adhering to government policies aimed at safeguarding natural resources and promoting sustainable development

Madame Kabera also commended the positive contributions of Environmental Clubs operating in schools, noting their role in raising awareness and driving impactful initiatives. She lauded the collaborative efforts between these clubs and other stakeholders, emphasizing that such partnerships are instrumental in fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among young people.

Madame Kabera’s message underscores the critical need for a united approach in tackling environmental challenges and building a sustainable future for Rwanda.
