When Abdoul Kudusi NIZEYIMANA, known to many as MC Kudusi, stepped into the media scene in 2018, it wasn’t just a career move; it was a calling. “I grew up feeling that the media world was where I truly belonged,” he reflects. “By 2018, I knew it was time to make it official.”
Born and raised in Musanze District, Northern Rwanda, Kudusi has become a familiar and influential voice on Energy Radio, where he currently hosts popular entertainment shows such as Star Tonight and Stop ou Encore. But behind the bright lights and fun segments, lies a deeper mission: empowering the youth of Rwanda through the airwaves.

His dream goes beyond entertainment. Kudusi envisions a media landscape that educates, uplifts, and transforms. He highlights content ideas such as Icyerekezo cy’Urubyiruko (The Vision of Youth), Inkingi z’Iterambere (Pillars of Development), and Urubyiruko mu Guhindura Isura y’u Rwanda (Youth in Transforming Rwanda’s Image).
“These kinds of vision-themed programs can boost knowledge and skills, change mindsets, encourage entrepreneurship, and build national unity,” he says. “Above all, they strengthen the role of young people in development.”
Yet, challenges remain. Many youths in Musanze and beyond still lack the awareness and skills to benefit from media. “We need strong awareness campaigns,” he says. “Social media and other platforms can be goldmines, but only if used wisely.”
As a young broadcaster navigating the digital age, Kudusi understands both the opportunities and pitfalls. He urges fellow youth to embrace media as a space of growth and innovation.
“Align yourself with areas that offer real potential,” he advises. “Keep learning. Work hard. Practice until it becomes part of who you are.”
The road is not without obstacles. Kudusi cites misinformation, limited digital literacy, and poor internet access especially in rural areas as major barriers to meaningful engagement.
Still, he remains optimistic. “Young people must stay alert,” he says. “Look around. Spot opportunities. Learn how to turn them into impact.”
From the cold mountains of Musanze to the studio microphone, MC Kudusi keeps the town warm with his passion and voice. He is more than a radio host; he is a mentor through the mic, building dreams and pushing for media that empowers, not just entertains
