EAUR VC captain Kageruka Cedric has identified poor blocking as a key factor in his team’s 3–1 loss to Police VC in the second round of the 2026/27 Rwanda Men’s Volleyball League on Sunday, October 25.

The defeat was EAUR VC’s first of the season, with Police winning the opening two sets 25–22, 25–22 before EAUR responded with a 27–25 win in the third. Police sealed the match 25–22 in the fourth set.

Kageruka said EAUR performed well in receiving but struggled to block Police’s attacks, exposing an area the team must improve in training.

“The biggest problem was blocking. That is where we had difficulties. Some of the things we had practised did not work well,” he said, adding that the team would work to correct its mistakes.

The captain said he would continue encouraging his teammates and keeping morale high as they prepare for their next matches.

EAUR VC are targeting a place among the league’s top four teams and ultimately the title, according to Kageruka.

The team is scheduled to return to action on October 30 at Petit Stade in Kigali, aiming to recover from the defeat.
